Joseph Woods learned the art of piano tuning from his father Charles in Pennsylvania. In 1865 after the Civil War he mustered out of the Union Army and was awarded a homestead in Longmont, Colorado. He sent for his father and they opened a father and son piano tuning and repair business.

In 1895, Joseph and his son Leo opened the Woods & Son piano store in Ft. Collins. Around this time, another son, Carlton, moved to Denver and went to work for the Knight Campbell Music Co. He was invited to the Steinway factory in New York for a two-year training program. He then returned to the Denver area as a factory trained Steinway technician.

Five years later, he opened his own piano tuning and rebuilding business. Carlton ran the business until 1945, handing it over to his son Charles II. While Charles is still active in the business, he passed leadership of the company to his son Joseph II in 1980.

Joseph continues rebuilding, buying and selling Steinway and other fine grand pianos. The company has since expanded to new piano sales including the renowned Bluthner, Seiler, Mason-Hamlin, Petrof and August Förster lines.

Crossroads Fab is a company that specializes in quality metal fabrication and welding along with precision race car preparation and race logistics. Our metal fabrication experience has spawned from the off-road racing world but our capabilities and experiences are diverse. In the racing environment we have worked on race vehicle projects ranging from custom ground up off-road race vehicle builds to race legal cages in SCCA Porsches. We have worked with some of the biggest names in the business and prevailed with multiple Baja 1000 wins. We have the talent and the know how to build and prepare race vehicles that last in the most demanding of environments.

Outside of the racing environment we have worked on projects ranging from theatrical stage sets to custom benches and the list keeps growing. Our ability to build quality prototypes and small production runs are evident through the quality of our work and our satisfied customers. Our philosophy is that quality custom metal crafting is always a combination of science and art; sound design and quality execution always result in an outcome pleasing to the eyes. Form and Function exist harmoniously. If we can be of any service please do not hesitate to contact us.

In the 1930’s, Rev. James Walls started a small, independent church on Michigan Avenue (now called Glendora Avenue) in Glendora. In 1940, this small congregation became affiliated with the Assemblies of God. This new church was simply known as Assembly of God, Glendora.

Ed Anderson was the first Foothill pastor under the Assemblies of God affiliation in 1941. Since then multiple pastors have contributed to the growth and history of this church, including, Rev. Bob Peters, Rev. Marcus Gaston, Rev. Gerald Fry (who started Foothill Christian School in 1964), Rev. Curtis Mettline, Rev. Wayne Fagerstrom, Rev. Mark Hinman and Rev. Bill Dogterom, who pastored the church for 27 years.

In November 2006, the baton was picked up by our Lead Pastor, Chris Lewis. Under his leadership, the church adopted a new name: Foothill Church. We want the community to know that we are a group of diverse people (ethnically, socioeconomically, politically, geographically) gathered for the common purpose of glorifying God and making Jesus famous in our community. In November 2007, we moved our services from the Foothill Christian School gymnasium on Baseline to the sanctuary at Grand Avenue. Since 2006, the church has maintained an annual growth of over 50% each year. God is moving at Foothill Church.

It began over 45 years ago. A handful of men acting on their commitment to start a Christian school mortgaged their homes and birthed a ministry. That first year in 1964, a tiny little school opened with 64 students in Kindergarten – 6th grades on Grand Ave.

In 1978, the vision expanded, leading to the purchase of property at Baseline. At the time, the $10,000 price tag seemed monumental. Today, we laugh at such a bargain. Back then, it was a step of faith.

The journey continued with the sacrifice of many and the courage to seize opportunities for further development. This resulted in construction of our Athletics and Fine Arts Building (1986), the Baseline Education Complex (1998) and the Rt. 66 Preschool (2004).

Today we have over 1,000 students on three campuses in Preschool-8th grades. It’s now our turn on this God-honoring journey, to take steps of faith that not only honor those who have gone before us, but bless those who will also follow.

Our newest Strategic Plan casts a vision of what is possible in the next few years as we work together to make FCS a great place for kids!
